Principals and Superintendents invited to ACTFL

Please invite your non-foreign language administrators to join us in Boston at ACTFL for our Third Annual Administrators' Session to help them to become better informed on the special needs of foreign language programming, funding, assessment and articulation.  Attendance is free for them!  You can find the Save-the-Date Letter and Registration Form for your administrator here.

Global Education Advisory Council

GEAC is one of several councils created to advised the Commissioner of Education on specific topics.  The group has worked diligently to create resources for those who are trying to infuse global studies across the curriculum.  They now have a website where many of their efforts of the last five years are accessible to the public. More links and information are planned for the future.  See the GEAC webpage on the Google site.

State News

School Reform in the New Millennium is the must-read document in Massachusetts Reform. Published in November 2008, it may guide the efforts of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for years to come.

Masssachusetts Foreign Language Programs In the News

The Placentino School in Holliston is a nominee for ACTFL's Melba D. Woodruff Award.  It is the site of a long-standing French immersion program in Massachusetts.    MetroWest Daily News carried the story.
